Hello, again!
Fall ONLINE Term 2 classes start on Monday! Welcome to our newest degree- and certificate-seeking students, welcome back to our returning students, and welcome to our On-Campus students utilizing our online class options!
As a final wrap up for Fall Term 1, the Online Learning Program will ask you again to complete your student surveys. These are instrumental in our capacity to improve and develop the program. You will find the survey in your class materials, in the final Module.
I have to remind you of important deadlines this week for the start of Fall Term 2: Registration will close on Thursday, October 22nd – after that point, you will not be able to add a course to your schedule for Term 2. Thursday, October 22nd is also the Tuition deadline for Term 2 – you will need to have your tuition bill paid or your financial aid accepted to be placed into your Moodle classroom. Barrister’s Bookshop is still open and if you need to get books, you may still order them – if you have not yet ordered your books, you may benefit from searching the Julien and Virginia Cornell Library for an e-version to use while waiting for yours to arrive.
Next week will see the Drop deadline of October 30: if you need to drop your class and you do so before the end of the day on Friday, the class will not be reflected on your transcript and you will see 100% of your tuition refunded (the Semester and Term fees are non-refundable). If this is something you’re considering, please be in touch with me, so I can help make sure that everything is addressed correctly.
Lastly – I need to make sure all of our students in our online classes are aware that their agreement to the Code of Conduct as a VLS Student extends to their online program work. Any student, staff, faculty, or administrator that experiences or witnesses a breach of the Code of Conduct (you can review it in the 19/20 Handbook) is obligated to report that violation. They can report it to a professor, advisor, administrator, the Vice Dean of Student Affairs & Diversity, or any of the Deans. Your Administration is actively finalizing the 20/21 Handbook, and as soon as it’s published, there will be a notice to all students.
On a bright, ending note: welcome to Fall Term 2, 2020, Online, at Vermont Law School!
