Dear VLS Online Community,
The residential campus has shifted to Virtual VLS (see Dean McHenry’s Letter to the Community below) through the end of the Spring 2020 semester. Our Online Community did not experience a shift in learning modality as we are already completely online. However, we have all been impacted in some way by the COVID 19 virus. For those teaching, and those learning, these are challenging times. Please know that we are here to help in any way possible. Faculty can contact me with any COVID 19 related concerns, and students can contact Genevieve (copied here). Two important updates for you:
1. There is a community meeting this week if you’d like to join in: Please join us for this week’s community call on Thursday March 26 at 12:45 pm (EDT) for further updates and/or to share your questions and comments: Join Microsoft Teams Meeting +1 213-293-2313 United States, Los Angeles (Toll) (833) 827-2530 United States (Toll-free) Conference ID: 880 452 088#
2. Graduation has been postponed until August 8, 2020, but degrees will be conferred in May 2020 (it is uncertain whether the diplomas will be available for distribution via mail in May).
To echo Dean McHenry, the VLS community is a resilient one, and it is heartwarming to work closely with our staff, faculty and students in addressing
and managing these challenges.
